Born in 1918, Guru Bipin Singh is a rare combination of a dancer, choreographer, scholar and teacher. Right from his childhood he has intensively studied different forms of Manipuri Dancing from various Gurus residing in Manipur, Cachar and Tripura. He studied and collected innumerable musical compositions of Natpala and Ras. He has a vast collection of ancient Indian Shastras on music and dance.

The dance demonstration of Guru Bipin Singh was so captivating that all spectators watched it spell bound. He is known as genius for creating beautiful dance numbers which coherently convey the true form and spirit of Manipuri dancing.

Guru Bipin Singh believes that all his achievements and accomplishments are due to the active and enthusiastic co-operation and collaboration of his devoted pupils Jhaveri Sisters, Nayana, Ranjana, Suverna and Darshana.
